what’s in my mug: Holy Basil or Tulsi
This herb is an adaptogen for various forms of stress. It helps to reduce the impact of noise-induced stress.(Newborn baby cry paired with super active two year old…)
It has been studied and found to protect against the effects of stress by nourishing the body, mind, spirit (Cohen 2014). It helps reduce anxiety and depression, has long standing tradition of being used for asthma. Its antimicrobial action is widely used for toothachess and gingivitis. It’s anti-inflammatory action is utilized for chronic joint inflammation.
This year I am growing it in my geodesic dome. It smells heavenly.
To make an infusion:
Use 1 - 2 teaspoons per cup of boiling water 2 — 3 times per day.
Steep covered for 5 - 10 minutes.
A supportive and yummy tea to alleviate stress and anxiety is to mix Holy Basil, Lavendar, Milky Oats, and Rose Petals. Use 2 teaspoons per cup of boiling water. Steep covered for 10 - 15 minutes.
That is what is pictured above and the heavenly tea I am currently drinking.
Drink as needed. Send gratitude to the plant friends.
Until next time, may your mug be filled with beautiful herbs and warm sips.
